School Summary: 

All Saints Academy was founded in 1966 as St. Paul's Episcopal Parish School under Father Gilbertson and Father Sturrup of Saint Paul's Episcopal Church. The school did not adopt its current name until 1993, when the middle and upper school portions of the facility were added, extending the grades serviced to grade twelve.

Position General Summary: All Saints Academy, an independent, Episcopal school in Winter Haven, Florida, seeks a World Language: Chinese teacher who will provide instruction for students in grades Preschool 2 through High School. 

Responsibilities: 

1. Use the American Council on Teaching Foreign Language (ACTFL) I Can Statements in establishing desired learning outcomes for students at all grade levels focusing on oral language proficiency in the Lower School; 

2. Plan for and contribute to the development of a comprehensive Chinese Language program that will begin with the Early Childhood level and continue on through the offering AP Chinese at the Upper School for students who are ready to take the exam; Chinese Teacher Position 2020-21 

3. Implement instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students in Pre-School 2 through High School are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences; 

4. Demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusion by creating a positive classroom environment in which all students feel safe and respected by both the teacher and peers; 

5. Communicate with students, parents, and internal and external professionals within established timelines; 

6. Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community members; 

7. Commit to participating in blended learning or distance learning models (as needed), which includes both on-line and/or classroom instruction and interaction with students (Operational knowledge of Google G-Suite and related applications); 

8. Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources, and meetings in an effective and timely manner; 

9. Works collaboratively as a part data-informed team; 

10. Contribute to community-wide responsibilities and supervisory duties as assigned; and 

11. Take on additional community roles such as sponsoring clubs, coaching, chairing and/or assisting in school-wide initiatives as a member of a supportive, collaborative learning environment. 

Qualifications: 

1. Native or near native fluency in Mandarin Chinese language 

2. Bachelor’s Degree 

3. Valid Florida Professional Teaching Certificate or Temporary Certificate in the content area assigned (preferred, but not required) 

4. Minimum of two years of successful teaching experience with young children (preferred)
